SUMMARY:PASA-Workshop 2008
DESCRIPTION:The PASA workshop series has the goal to build a bridge between
theory and practice in the area of parallel systems and algorithms. In thi
s context practical problems which require theoretical investigations as we
ll as the applicability of theoretical approaches and results to practice s
hall be discussed. An important aspect is communication and exchange of exp
erience between various groups working in the area of parallel computing, e
.g. in computer science, electrical engineering, physics or mathematics.\n\
nTopics of Interest include, but are not restricted to:\n\n parallel archi
tectures & storage systems interconnection networks parallel embedded sys
tems reconfigurable parallel computing ubiquitous and pervasive systems
distributed and parallel multimedia systems models of parallel computation
performance evaluation of parallel systems data stream-oriented computin
g software engineering for parallel systems parallel and distributed algo
rithms parallel programming languages network and grid computing new tec
hnologies & architectures (SoC, Multicores, PIM, etc.) parallel organic co
mputing alternative technologies (e.g. quantum or DNA computing) \n\nThe w
orkshop will comprise invited papers on current topics of leading experts i
n the field as well as submitted papers. The accepted papers shall have a l
ength of about 10 pages A4 and will be published in the ARCS Workshop Proce
edings as well as in the PARS Newsletter (ISSN 0177-0454). For ARCS 2008 pa
rticipants the workshop is included in the conference fee, for participatio
n in the workshop alone, only a reduced fee is due. The conference language
s are English (preferred) and German. Papers are required to be in English.
\n\nA prize of 500 € will be awarded to the best contribution presented per
 sonally based on a student's or Ph.D. thesis.\n\nProgram\n\nPASA Workshop 2
